Resource packs are only available in Java Edition 1.6.1 and higher. While resource packs provide new textures for your gameplay, they also provide other game features such as music, sound effects, particle effects, and text. Note: you may hear the term resource pack in place of texture packs. Texture packs can increase them up to 1024×1024, which has 4,906 times the number of pixels as native!
